Psyllium Husk Capsules, Vegetarian

.Psyllium Husk capsules are a bulking herb with high levels of fibre which becomes highly gelatinous with liquid. The effect when taken is to swell and draw fluid into the husks. Many find the herb useful when incorporated into a calorie controlled diet. It is also nutritious, containing high levels of fatty acids. Should be taken with lots of water and is quite safe for anyone.

Psyllium is a bulk-forming laxative and is high in both fibre and mucilage. Psyllium seeds contain 10–30 % mucilage. The laxative properties are due to the swelling of the husk when it comes in contact with water. In addition to its traditional and current use for constipation, Psyllium was also used topically to treat skin irritation, including poison ivy reactions and insect bites and stings.
